If you’ve faced setbacks in your 10th or 12th class exams from NIOS OPEN SCHOOL, CBSE, or STATE BOARD, worry not; you still have the opportunity to apply for admission to NIOS. Whether you’re a student who encountered difficulties in these classes or holds original mark sheets indicating failure or compartment, you are eligible to avail the Transfer of Credit (TOC) facility offered by NIOS.
Let’s delve into what TOC (Transfer of Credit) entails within the NIOS OPEN SCHOOL framework. TOC is an option exclusively available to students who haven’t failed in all subjects in their 10th and 12th classes from any recognized board. It enables students to transfer credits for subjects they’ve passed in their previous board exams to NIOS. This transfer is possible when the same subjects are included in the NIOS subject scheme. Before opting for TOC, students must review the NIOS subject TOC scheme and the list of accepted board names for TOC.
This feature, provided by NIOS OPEN SCHOOL BOARD, enables you to transfer your marks. As long as you haven’t failed or obtained poor marks in exams conducted by any recognized board, you’re eligible to seek admission to NIOS BOARD and make use of the TOC facility. TOC can be utilized for up to two pass subjects.
Additionally, students who have appeared for competitive exams like NEET and IIT are welcome to join NIOS. Our flexible learning model accommodates the rigorous demands of exam preparation while ensuring a holistic educational experience.
Now, let’s consider a scenario where you’ve failed in one, two, or three subjects in your 10th or 12th exams. In such cases, the marks of the failed subjects can be transferred to your NIOS mark sheet. However, if you’ve passed all subjects in your previous board exams, you won’t be eligible for the TOC facility for two subjects. Instead, you can opt for an improvement exam.
It’s important to note that this facility is not available to students who have failed in the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, or 11th class, or who have exceeded five years since failing in the 10th or 12th class.
As a learner, it’s advisable to seek Transfer of Credits (TOC) at the time of admission for subjects included in the OPEN SCHOOL scheme of studies.
The Transfer of Credit (TOC) facility will be applicable under the following conditions:
